Theatre Bizarre!!!

Theatre Bizarre was beyond my wildest expectations (and believe me, my expectations were pretty wild)!! What a fantastic conglomeration of carnival, theatre, concert and party! Everywhere, there were costumes that were either totally unique or were the result of painstakingly accurate renditions of known characters.

There are some creatures that are better left in the dark corners of our nightmares…

This Saturday, October 24th, the ghouls, goblins, freaks and geeks will rule the night, once again! Theatre Bizarre’s Halloween celebration, a party like no other, will manifest from dusk till dawn.

This year, as in previous years, tickets to the event sold out just a few days after going on open sale. So, if you weren’t lucky enough to score tickets for this year’s party, be sure to start watching for them around mid-September next year, for Theatre Bizarre 2010. (Hint: Advance, reduced rate tix for this year’s show were available for purchase at the Dally in the Alley which took place September 12th. I’m just sayin’…)

I have been following the progress of preparations for this show. I was on site last night to document some of the final stages of set-up as the final press to get ready for Saturday’s showtime has built up a full head of steam and the place was busier than Santa’s workshop on Christmas Eve!

Mere words cannot express how impressed I have been with the dedication, professionalism and courtesy of EVERYONE I have encountered in conjunction with this project! You will not find a harder working embodiment of the concept of teamwork anywhere!

Here are a few shots of some of the final preps…

Lighting and sound sytems are given some final adjustments on the main stage…

Some of the ghastly creations of Eyecon FX get some TLC from Dave, their creator, as they are readied for Saturday’s fourteen-hour makeup marathon which will get the players ready for “showtime” that evening…

Watch this space for shots from the show!!!

Everytime I look at these images I get a little freaked out. This looks like such an amazing place with lots of intersting people. Though I didn’t see a picture of you…. surely you dressed up. Hope all is well!

I have been 3 times now and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else on that night.Halloween isn’t the same anywhere else in the world! I was surprised to see my friends the “space rangers” in your photos….very cool!! If you’re not at theatre bizarre the Saturday before Halloween you are surely missing out on the party of the year!! Good times! Great people!a perfectly creepy night!

I’m the “Edward Scissorhands” and I want to know how to get a copy of that picture?
